Multi-factor
authentication, commonly called MFA, provides an additional layer of security
when signing in to 3PM Construction.
In addition to
entering your email address and password, MFA asks you to enter a temporary
verification code from an authenticator app on your phone.
MFA requires a
one-time setup. Once your device has been verified, you will generally only
need to enter another verification code when you sign back in after the 21-day trust period.
Before You Begin
You will need:
You can use any
compatible authenticator app eg, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. 3PM Construction
does not require or recommend one specific authenticator app.
You can continue
using an authenticator app that you already have installed.
Setting Up MFA on a Desktop Computer
Step 1: Sign In
Step 2: Begin MFA Setup
Once MFA has been enabled for your account, you will be asked to set up multi-factor authentication after signing in.
Select the button 'Configure' to begin the setup process.
2. Manually enter the setup key which will add a code on your authenticator app
Step 5: Enter the Verification Code
After the account has been added, your authenticator app will display a temporary verification code.
Click 'Next' on the desktop 3PM Construction
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app into the verification field in 3PM Construction and click 'Verify'
You will get a confirmation message, and then you click 'Enable MFA'
Step 6: Save Your Backup Codes
You will then be provided with backup codes.
Store these codes somewhere secure. Backup codes can help you access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app or change your phone.
Step 7: Complete the Setup
Once the verification code has been accepted, MFA setup is complete and you will be signed in to 3PM Construction.
Your device will remain trusted for 21 days. When you sign back in after the trust period has expired, you will be asked to enter a new code from your authenticator app.
Step 2: Begin MFA Setup
After signing in, follow the prompt to begin setting up multi-factor authentication.
Step 3: Add the Account to Your Authenticator App
Open your authenticator app and add a new account.
You can connect the account by scanning the displayed QR code or manually entering the provided setup key.
When completing setup on the same phone, using the setup key may be easier than trying to scan a QR code displayed on that device.
Step 4: Enter the Verification Code
Return to the 3PM Construction login screen and enter the temporary code displayed in your authenticator app.
Select 'Verify' to verify the code.
Click 'Enable MFA'
Step 5: Save Your Backup Codes

Then click 'Continue to sign in'
Step 6: Complete the Setup
Once the verification code has been accepted, you can continue into the 3PM Construction mobile application. Then use the platform as you normally would.
Changing to a New Phone
Authenticator codes are connected to the authenticator account configured on your device.
When changing phones, use the transfer, backup or migration option available in your authenticator app to move your authenticator accounts to the new phone.
Where possible, complete this transfer before removing access to your previous phone.
When you next sign in to 3PM Construction, use the verification code generated by the authenticator app on your new phone.
What to Do if You Are Locked Out
You may be unable to sign in if:
• You have lost your phone.
• You have changed phones without transferring your authenticator accounts.
• The 3PM Construction account has been removed from your authenticator app.
• You no longer have access to your backup codes.
First, try using one of the backup codes saved during the original MFA setup.
When you do not have access to your authenticator app or backup codes, contact your usual support contact or 3PM Support and request an MFA reset.
After MFA has been reset, you will be asked to complete the setup process again by connecting an authenticator app and entering a new verification code.
